Derek is a self-taught designer currently living in North County San Diego. Originally from a small town in Wisconsin, he made his way out to Colorado to attend college. Derek graduated from Western Colorado University in 2020 with a degree in Exercise Sports Science and Business Administration. The onset of COVID upended his plans of becoming a physical education teacher. With the world shut down, Derek started bringing some of the ideas he had long been thinking of to life. It started with tie dye, then quickly expanded to painting, digital art and finally to design.

Derek has a deep passion for apparel and clothing design. With a style he coins as “future nostalgia”, Derek is always looking back to move forward: taking inspiration from past decades and adding a futuristic twist. Although he has not been designing long, Derek has managed to design for some of the biggest companies in the industry. Derek brings to his clients a passion for creativity and a drive to understand their needs and goals in order to help them succeed, and a desire to have some fun along the way.
